Presenting the Charter School Incubator

Networks of great schools can change kids’ lives.  We’re looking for teams of great people to start life-changing schools in Indianapolis, and we’re offering $1 million to invest in each team.  Read on to learn how you can take part.

The Charter School Incubator is an initiative of The Mind Trust designed to launch networks that will develop large systems of the highest-quality public charter schools in Indianapolis. The catalytic effect of this Incubator will result in the launch of dozens of life-changing schools in Indianapolis over the next 5 years, serving thousands of students across the city.

Starting fall 2011, The Mind Trust will conduct a highly selective, nationwide competition to identify leadership teams capable of launching networks of exceptional charter schools. Each winning leadership team will receive $1 million in start-up funding, distributed through a rigorous performance review and accountability process. Teams will be carefully screened upfront for experience, qualifications and charter school network leadership potential. The Mind Trust will leverage its knowledge of the community to ensure that leadership teams successfully launch and scale their high-performing, innovative school models in Indianapolis.
