The Mind Trust hires Senior Director of Special Projects
Indianapolis – (August 10, 2020) – The Mind Trust today announced it has hired Porsche Chisley as Senior Director of Special Projects. In this newly-created role, Chisley will be responsible for managing a variety of special projects related to The Mind Trust’s programmatic work, including leading the implementation of the Indiana eLearning Lab in partnership with the Indianapolis eLearning Fund.

As the Senior Director of Special Projects, Chisley will support the creation and implementation of special projects meant to expand the impact of The Mind Trust’s successful programmatic work. Her responsibilities will include designing and managing initiatives that strengthen the Indianapolis education ecosystem, collaborating with key community partners and stakeholders, and supporting The Mind Trust’s mission and commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
In this role, Chisley will lead the project management of the Indiana eLearning Lab in partnership with Five Star Technology Solutions. The Mind Trust is overseeing the first year of the implementation of the Lab in partnership with the Indianapolis eLearning Fund. The Indiana eLearning Lab is a dynamic, virtual hub for educators across the state to access teaching content, share best practices, find community, and grow professionally. The Lab also provides support for families as they assist their children in successfully participating in eLearning.
An Indianapolis native, Chisley most recently served as the Director of School Improvement for Charter School Specialists, a high-quality charter school authorizer in Ohio serving more than 13,000 students. She began her career in education as a Teach For America corps member, teaching for four years and serving as a grade-level chair and on her school’s leadership team before transitioning to educational leadership opportunities outside of the classroom. She managed several school improvement initiatives for the Ohio Department of Education, and has successfully supported school leaders in improving and implementing early childhood education training, school turnaround efforts, instructional strategies, and data analysis.
Chisley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio State University and a Masters of Elementary Education from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. She is one of the founding board members of the Columbus Urban League Young Professionals and Co-chaired their Education Committee.
