The Mind Trust opens applications for second cohort of Emerging Leaders Fellowship

INDIANAPOLIS – (January 8, 2024) – The Mind Trust, an Indianapolis-based education nonprofit, has opened applications for the second cohort of the Emerging Leaders Fellows, a three-year experience for Indianapolis educators who are eager to expand their impact on our city’s students. The Emerging Leaders Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for Indianapolis educators to accelerate their development and impact through high-quality professional development, trips to visit high-performing schools in other cities, and funding for a Fellow-led project at their school.

About The Mind Trust’s Emerging Leaders Fellowship

The Emerging Leaders Fellowship gives talented educators the tools, resources, and coaching to level up their impact and become the next generation of leadership for Indianapolis schools. The Fellowship is a good fit for educators who hold roles like Director of Special Education, Assistant Principal, Multilingual Learners Coordinator, or Dean of Culture. The Fellowship is a cohort experience that exposes Fellows to leaders from other areas of the city through a mix of in-person and virtual training and trips. 

The Mind Trust provides Fellows extensive support, including customized professional development, national and international trips to learn from other high-performing professionals and innovative schools, and access to personalized executive coaching. Fellows may receive a $30,000 stipend for program participation. 

Fellows at The Mind Trust are passionate, experienced educators who are committed to growing and learning to achieve equitable outcomes for all students. Interested applicants should be able to provide evidence of the following:

• Leadership in an Indianapolis charter or innovation school.
• Commitment to staying at your school for the entirety of the fellowship.
• Focus on improving student achievement.

The Mind Trust is seeking candidates who are interested in growing into high-impact leaders who commit to staying at their schools through the duration of the three-year Fellowship. 

Emerging Leaders Fellowship Application Process

Interested applicants can begin their application at themindtrust.org/emerging-leaders-fellowship. Applicants will complete an online application and will submit two professional letters of recommendation, a data worksheet illustrating their impact on either student outcomes or their contribution to a direct report’s growth, and a video showcasing their leadership. All materials are due on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:59pm EST. 

The Mind Trust will have upcoming opportunities for interested applicants to learn more about the Fellowship experience, meet current cohort members, and application process. Applicants will be notified in April 2024 if they are invited to continue in the application process. Fellows will be selected by May 2024 and will begin the Fellowship experience in summer 2024.
