The Mind Trust promotes Kristin Grimme and Joe White to leadership team
Indianapolis—(April 18, 2018)—The Mind Trust, an Indianapolis-based education nonprofit, has announced the promotion of Kristin Grimme to Vice President of School Incubation and Joe White to Vice President of School Support. Both will join The Mind Trust’s executive leadership team.
“I could not be more excited to add Kristin and Joe to The Mind Trust’s leadership team. Both Joe and Kristin are deeply respected across Indianapolis and nationally for their contributions to our education system. Their leadership will be essential to continuing our work to grow great schools in Indianapolis,” says Brandon Brown, The Mind Trust’s Senior Vice President of Education Innovation and Incoming CEO.
Grimme will oversee all aspects of The Mind Trust’s work supporting the launch of new high-quality schools in Indianapolis, including its groundbreaking partnership with Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and The Mayor’s Office to grow the number of high-quality Innovation Network Schools. She has served as The Mind Trust’s Senior Director of School Incubation since 2016. During this time, she has supported the launch of ten charter schools and Innovation Network Schools as well as the ongoing development of twelve more schools. Before joining The Mind Trust, Grimme served as director of charter schools for Mayor Greg Ballard’s Office of Education Innovation and a school improvement and turnaround specialist for the Indiana Department of Education.
White will lead the expansion of The Mind Trust’s emerging continuum of school supports, which provide access to a range of supports for existing schools and networks. This relatively new work will focus on building capacity within Indianapolis schools to ensure students have access to a world-class educational experience. He previously served as The Mind Trust’s Senior Director of School Incubation. Since joining The Mind Trust in 2016, White has led The Mind Trust’s partnership with the Relay Graduate School of Education’s National Principals Academy Fellowship and has developed several groundbreaking initiatives that provide educators across Indianapolis with expert instructional, operational, and executive leadership support. White previously served as executive director of The Excel Center, where he was instrumental in the charter network’s growth from one to eleven schools.
