Steven Jones and Leigh Ann Pusey to serve on The Mind Trust Board of Directors

INDIANAPOLIS—(August 19, 2019)—The Mind Trust, an Indianapolis-based education nonprofit, today announced the election of Steven Jones and Leigh Ann Pusey to its Board of Directors. Jones currently serves as Dean for Professional Development and Director of the Malcolm X Institute for Black Studies at Wabash College and Pusey is the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Eli Lilly and Company.

“We are excited to welcome Steven Jones and Leigh Ann Pusey to our Board of Directors,” said Jim Schumacher, The Mind Trust’s Board Chair. “Their wealth of experience across multiple sectors will be critical as we continue supporting the growth of high-quality schools in Indianapolis.”

Prior to his role at Wabash College, Jones worked for Indiana University Health for more than 20 years in various leadership roles. A graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, he received the Center for Leadership Development’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2014. In addition, he is a graduate of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Program and the Indiana Healthcare Leadership Academy, and was named a Hoosier Fellow at the Randall Tobias Center for Leadership Excellence. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wabash College.

Before working for Eli Lilly and Company, Pusey served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Insurance Association (AIA) for nearly a decade and worked in other leadership positions at AIA before heading the company. Prior to joining AIA, Pusey held several key positions in national politics, including Director of Communications for the Office of the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Samford University.
